Can you cut the slab to size before delivery?
Yes, we can trim to your specified dimensions or leave the natural live edge intact.
What finishes can I apply to the wood?
Most customers use natural oils or waxes. Red Oak, Ash, and Elm all take finishes evenly and produce a rich tone when treated.
What does ‘spalted’ mean?
Spalting is a natural patterning process caused by fungal activity, creating unique dark lines and colour variations within the wood.
Is the timber kiln-dried or air-dried?
All slabs are air-dried naturally on site before sale. For certain projects, kiln-drying can be arranged on request.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes, we deliver throughout the UK using trusted couriers. Local collection from our New Forest yard is also available.
Can I view the slabs before purchasing?
Absolutely – you’re welcome to visit the sawmill to view available stock and discuss your project in person.
How should I store the slab before finishing?
Keep the slab in a dry, stable environment to allow it to acclimatise to room temperature before planing or finishing.
